Wednesday Morning Women

Class led by Michelle Villars, Karen Holloway, and Leslie Lunsford Wednesdays 9:30-11AM. The next study begins August 15th, “In His Image” by Jen Wilkin. Sometimes we ask, “What is God’s will for my life?” when we should really be asking, “Who should I be?” The Bible has an answer: Be like the very image of God. By exploring ten characteristics of who God is—holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise—this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, the perfect reflection of the image of God, we will discover how God’s own attributes impact how we live, leading to freedom and purpose as we follow his will and are conformed to his image.
Class dates are: Aug. 22 & 29; September 5, 12 & 19. Books $7. E

Unafraid-Adam Hamilton
The vast majority of fears–fear of others, of failure, of the future–have almost no basis in reality, yet tie us in knots and steal our peace of mind. These fears, experts say, are often vestiges of primitive ‘fight, flight, or freeze’ instincts that, mostly, no longer apply. As Adam Hamilton shows in Unafraid, we can escape the echo chamber of anxiety and dread. With insight, intention and faith, we can learn to overcome what oppresses us, and live with courage and hope. Hamilton helps readers untangle the knots of fear and truly embrace Jesus’s recurring counsel: “Do not be afraid.” For anyone struggling with fear, worry, or anxiety, or who wonders how families and communities can live as peacemakers in troubled times, Unafraid offers an informed and inspiring message full of practical solutions. 6-week study meets Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm led by Maria Wells starting Aug. 29th.
