Stephen
Ministry
This is a lay ministry which equips people to provide distinctively Christian
one-to-one care to those experiencing all kinds of needs and circumstances,
both in our church family and community. Are you interested in sharing
your gifts of compassion, empathy and encouragement with others? We will
be offering a Stephen Ministry training class on Wednesday nights beginning
in September. Contact Carol Axford at carolaxford@comcast.net
or Karen Post at kkjpost@gmail.com
for more info. We’ll have information in the lobby in August, so
check it out and decide if you would like to be part of this team.
If
you need a Stephen Minister or want to see about getting one for a friend
in need, please contact Carol Axford at carolaxford@comcast.net
or Karen Post at kkjpost@gmail.com
Prayer
Team
We believe in the power of prayer! The prayer team meets weekly to discuss
prayer requests and to pray for these and other specific needs of our
church and community. The prayer team looks for ways and opportunities
to encourage both individual and corporate prayer. Call Clarice Howard
at 770-486-0996 for more information or email to provpray@provumc.com

Support
Groups
Groups
are formed as needs are identified and leaders come forth. We have support
groups that meet weekly and monthly. Groups must meet a need in the church
or community and help participants to grow in their faith journey.
Divorce
Care
Providence UMC and Heritage Christian Church offer DivorceCare class and DivorceCare for Kids for children 5 -12 years old. The classes meet at Providence on Monday evenings @ 6:30 pm at 592 Bernhard Road in Fayetteville. Free workbooks and childcare are provided. Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are two of the most painful and stressful experiences you'll ever face. DivorceCare can help you confront these many challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. DivorceCare for Kids has specially trained leaders to help children recover from the hurt of divorce and foster communication between the parent and child during this sad time. You don't have to go through this alone, please join us so your healing process can begin. If you are interested in signing up or just want more info, please call Barbara Hudson (678-773-4656)
Meals
Ministry
Meals are delivered to those who have experienced a death, hospitalization,
or other special need. This ministry works hand in hand with the Care
Coordinators in Sunday school classes and other small groups. |
|
Care
Coordinators
Small group participation is the key for people to be cared for at the
basic level. Sunday school classes and other small groups have Care Coordinators
who are aware of the needs of their group members. Calls, visits, cards,
and/or food are coordinated when there is a need.
