Congregational Care

Stephen Ministry
This is a lay ministry which equips people to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those experiencing all kinds of needs and circumstances, both in our church family and community. The contact person for Stephen Ministry (to receive care or to become a Stephen minister) is Beth Burns-Craig at burns.beth@gmail.com or 770-719-0423

If you have the gifts of compassion, service and prayer, you may want to consider becoming a Stephen Minister. To learn more about Stephen Ministry, please visit http://www.provumc.com/stephen_ministry.pdf or

Prayer Team
We believe in the power of prayer! The prayer team meets weekly to discuss prayer requests and to pray for these and other specific needs of our church and community. The prayer team looks for ways and opportunities to encourage both individual and corporate prayer. Call Clarice Howard at 770-486-0996 for more information or email to provpray@bellsouth.net For additional prayer resources click on: http://www.theupperroom.org/prayer_center/

Support Groups
Groups are formed as needs are identified and leaders come forth. We have support groups that meet weekly and monthly. Groups must meet a need in the church or community and help participants to grow in their faith journey.

Meals Ministry
Meals are delivered to those who have experienced a death, hospitalization, or other special need. This ministry works hand in hand with the Care Coordinators in Sunday school classes and other small groups.

Care Coordinators
Small group participation is the key for people to be cared for at the basic level. Sunday school classes and other small groups have Care Coordinators who are aware of the needs of their group members. Calls, visits, cards, and/or food are coordinated when there is a need.

Pastoral Care
Visits and counsel for those in the hospital, those who have experienced a loss, and those who are unable to be a part of our regular fellowship are an important part of our caring ministry.

Fellowship
Men's and women's fellowship is also available. Men's softball & basketball, and a scrapbook group for women are just a few examples of the opportunities.

Planning for groups, presentations, and events is based on what we hear from you. So please let us know your needs and interests as well as the desires God has placed in your heart to be involved in these ministries.
