Celebration Sunday

M & M Women’s Ministry

DivorceCare
Providence UMC and Heritage Christian Church offer 13-week DivorceCare class and DivorceCare for Kids for children 5 -12 years old. Free workbooks and childcare will be provided. Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are two of the most painful and stressful experiences you'll ever face. DivorceCare can help you confront these many challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. DivorceCare for Kids has specially trained leaders to help children recover from the hurt of divorce and foster communication between the parent and child during this sad time. You don't have to go through this alone, please join us so your healing process can begin. The fall semester class meets at 6:30pm at Heritage Christian Church; the spring class will meet at Providence UMC on Monday evenings at 6:30. Please call Barbara Hudson (678-773-4656) to sign up.

Are You Experiencing the Blues?
Stephen Ministers are members of Providence who have gone through 50 hours of training to provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to people who are facing a crisis or simply going through a difficult time. Your Stephen Minister will meet with you as needed for around an hour to listen to you, care for you, pray with and for you, and provide emotional and spiritual encouragement. Men are matched with male Stephen Ministers, women are matched with female Stephen Ministers. Providence Prayer Team
If prayer is one of your spiritual gifts, the Providence prayer team needs you. We are expanding our ministry to include monthly prayer services, weekly altar attendants and pastoral prayer. Sunday school during the school year is an unforgettable Faith Adventure for K-5th grade children. The different workshops are: Whales’ Tales (Storytelling), Seaside Studio (Art), Fish.net (Computers), Fish Bowl (Games), Star Fish (Drama), Fish & Clips (Movies) and Lighthouse Lab (Science). For parents of infants-toddlers, the rooms are The Hatchery, Toddlers by the Sea and Fins & Grins. During each four-week unit the kids will attend four different workshops then switch to the other four workshops the next month.  The theme of this 6 week rotation is “Creation: Genesis 1:1-2:4.” The story of creation helps children develop a sense of wonder and awe over what God has made and helps us discover our Christian responsibility to take care of our world.

6:30-7:00 3yrs-1st Grade; 6:30-7:30 for 2nd-5th grades.

SonRise choir (2nd-5th) will sing "What Faith Can Do" in worship on September 18th at the end of 10:00 worship & the beginning of the 11:11 service.
Auditions for the "Dude, You Hear What I Hear?" musical will be Sunday, September 11, 2:30-5:00pm.
Rehearsals for "Dude" leads will begin in October on Wednesdays after choir from 7:30-8:00.

This worship service at 10 a.m. is tailored to children with music, lessons, skits and activities focused on teaching Bible lessons to strengthen their relationships with God and others. They meet the Captain, First Mate, Pirate, Tourist &  the “Mid High Tide” worship team, earn “sand dollars” to redeem for treasure, and learn from Coconut the Monkey and Crackers the Parrot.

The adult choir – participates in traditional worship and leads congregational singing. Special music is based upon seasons or sermon topics.

A small adult ensemble – participates in traditional worship and special church programs. ProvPraise sings a variety of Christian music (Contemporary, Traditional, Southern Gospel) with accompaniment tracks. Membership is by audition only.

A small adult ensemble – participates in traditional worship. Grace Notes sings traditional music, many pieces are more difficult and require a more advanced knowledge of music. Membership is by audition only.

Women’s Ensemble is open to all women and meets on Wednesday mornings for rehearsal.  This group also sings on a rotating schedule.
