“Immeasurably More”
"Immeasurably More"
"God's love is SO big, it includes me!"  How big is God's love? It is too big for us to understand, but we can experience it. Ephesians 3:18-19 (NLT) 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

The three kings traveled to see Jesus and saw King Herod. King Herod told them to report back to him so he could see the baby. (Matthew 2:12 NIV) And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. Life may not always go the way we expect.  We have to be flexible and sometimes take "another route."

Herod reminds us that there will be some hardships in a Christian's life.  The baby Jesus reminds us that whatever happens, we can handle it.  We can face it with joy, confidence, and the assurance that it will be ok.

The real miracle of Christmas came as a baby over 2000 years ago.
John 1 (1,14) (KJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
Luke 2 (11-12) 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Going home is not always a “Christmas Vacation.”  Mary and Joseph were going home for the census and the first Christmas.  Going home for Christmas can be anywhere you go home to Jesus and the manger which is what Christmas is all about.

Luke 1:24 "After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion."  When life happens, everyone needs a safe place, a family and home to go to. Everyone needs a church family, a safe place to come home to.

Are you an early decorator or a procrastinator? Is the tree up and decorated? Now, here’s something you don’t want to put off. These days leading to Christmas are a time of spiritual preparation, of getting ready to meet that little Baby at Bethlehem. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
