Serve

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11

Below are just a few of the opportunities Providence offers to reach out in Christian love in our community, the state & the world. Small groups, Student Ministry & Adult Ministry have additional projects. For more information about the ministries and missions Providence supports, please contact Carol Axford.
As we close 2018, the year of “Live Better.Together.” we will gather for a short worship service followed by a meal-packing event for Rise Against Hunger. Sign up here to serve on December 30 or to support the mission with giving. All are welcome, you do not have to be a member of Providence to serve those in need in His name!

High school students-adults go to San Raymundo, Guatemala for the Mission Trip each year in June to build a home for a deserving family. With adequate housing, families are relieved of their greatest financial struggle and a break is made in this vicious cycle of poverty.   $750-800/person. Valid passport & immunizations required. Info about the next trip? Email Jeff Carson: 770-616-0698

Providence & other area churches join together to build homes through Square Foot Ministries. The photo to the left shows the five homes built in 2017 & 2018 in Griffin. For information about the 2019 home build contact Jeff Williams.
Providence is one of the founding churches for the Fayette Samaritans which helps those in need in our community with utility assistance, food and clothing. Each February & August is a concentrated food drive to fill the food pantry. All are invited to help by bringing food to the Missions Box by the back doors of the main building.
Each school year Providence provides backpacks full of food for children to take home over the weekends because they do not have enough food at home. Individuals, families and small groups sign up to fill the backpack each week by Wednesday for delivery on Thursday. For 2018-19 we are providing backpacks for Sara Harp Minter Elementary & Oak Grove Elementary. If you are interested in this ministry, contact Leslie Lunsford
