Prayer Shawl Ministry

Cradled in hope… Kept in joy… Graced in peace… Wrapped in love…

What is a Prayer Shawl Ministry?
Needlework and prayer are combined to make beautiful prayer shawls for those in great need. Prayer shawls provide love, care, warmth, comfort, encouragement and hope for the people who receive them.
As we create the prayer shawls we find ourselves growing closer to God and increasing the fruits of the Spirit. Prayer shawls create spiritual experiences to create, to give and to receive. All are welcome to join this group of ladies that meets Mondays 6-7pm in the Prayer Room by the back doors. Questions? Pat Johnson

How Do You Create Prayer Shawls?
Shawls can be knitted or crocheted, but the most important part of the shawls is the prayer that goes into them. Begin with a prayer for blessing the shawl then weave prayers into the shawl as you work. As you are making it, pray for the person who will receive the shawl.
How Do You Get a Prayer Shawl?
If you or someone you know could use the comfort of a prayer shawl, please contact the church office at 770-719-8800 or email Pat Johnson and we will get one to you. Providence started this ministry out of the desire to provide those in need with physical evidence of our desire to enfold them with love and prayers for healing.
