Jesus came to bring everyone together, Jew and Gentile, as one fellowship of Christians. "19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,  20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone." NIV Eph. 2:19-20

    God wants everyone together not separated by cultural rules and beliefs. God sent Jesus to bind us together. "His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross." NIV Eph. 2:15-16

    Going into the new year we ask: "What's going to happen? When is it going to happen? How is it going to end?" We all have to enter "Into the Unknown." Even whe the answer to these questions is "I don't know." We are called to faithful to God recognizing that there are somethings beyond our control, but we know that God walks with us.

    A light in the darkness can solve a lot of problems. Darkness can cause us to get lost or hurt as we stumble over things. When Jesus came into the world , He was the light in the darkness to show us God. Jesus is the "Light" of the world, to show us the way to a relationship with God.

    Can you imagine letting Jesus change your "Upside Down World?" God sent His son to bridge the gap of our upside down world of sin to that of forgiveness and the promise of eternal life with God. "A Baby Changes Everything!!!"

    Jesus challenges us to set our priorities. Jesus gives us a parable of a rich man focusing on preparing for his future by storing up his riches. Jesus tells him that it is ok to prepare for your future, but he should set his priorities to prepare for a life with God before focusing on storing his riches.

    A baby changes everything, and one thing it changes is our schedules. Mary and Joseph had a schedule around getting married and starting a life together. Their schedules changed immediately after the angel appeared to Mary and told her she would conceive by the Holy Spirit and have a baby, the Son of God. "A Baby Changes Everything."

    Ask the question: For what are we to be thankful for? We are grateful for all the "stuff" in our lives, but ultimately we should be grateful for Jesus Christ. Even if the "stuff" in our lives fades, our gratitude for Jesus Christ should always prevail.
