“Uncommon Common Sense: Company Reduces Misery”
"Uncommon Common Sense: Company Reduces Misery"
Prov. 15:22 "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed."(NIV)
This month's sermon series "Uncommon Common Sense" is common sense straight out of the Bible, straight from God's heart. If you have a special problem, find someone you can trust for counsel. God doesn't expect you to go through life alone. Seek out wise counsel and you will become wise (Prov. 13:20). Seek counsel from people who are honest and true to their beliefs and will support you when you make mistakes (Prov. 16:13).

    “Taking Out the Garbage”
11:00 Contemporary Service - Adam Love delivers the message, "Taking Out the Garbage."

Every week we may come to worship and go through the motions. We sing the songs and agree with the sermon while it is being delivered, but do we bring our "garbage" to God and deal with it? God knows all. He wants you to bring all your "garbage" to Him, ask for forgiveness, and move forward with His loving forgiveness.

    “What We Do in Worship”
9:30 Traditional Service - Woody Brown delivers the message,
    "What We Do in Worship."
What do we do in worship? If you were asked specifically to come to worship to see a special person to you speak, how would you prepare? Every week, God asks you to worship. We can look at three verses, Psalm 34:1-3, to help us prepare for worship.

    “Flight Plan: Landing”
    "Flight Plan: Landing"
A flight plan requires three things: "Take Off", "Maintain Heading", and "Landing." Once you land, you need instruction on what to do. God gave instruction to the Hebrews after they left Egypt starting with "you shall have no other gods before Me." Where ever you are in life, the first step is to put God first. Don't let anything come between you and God. Put God first!

    “Flight Plan: Maintain Heading”
"Flight Plan: Maintain Heading" God doesn't say there won't be challenges going forward. If God is leading you in a certain direction, you have to keep the faith that God is big enough to take care of us.

    “Flight Plan: Takeoff”
    "Flight Plan: Takeoff"
If you think their are times when you hear God's calling, then hit the ground running and "Takeoff." Often times the opportunities God places before us are lost because we wait before we answer the call. It all starts with our decision to follow Christ and "Takeoff!"

    “Letters of Recommendation”
"Letters of Recommendation" 2 Corinthians 3:3 "You show that you are a letter from Christ." Someone may have never read the Gospels, but they see Christ through your life. Your interactions with others shows your life with Christ. Think about it. Someone may base their opinion of Christ by what they see through you. You are a letter of recommendation for God Almighty! Isn't that amazing?!

    “No More Tears”
    "No More Tears"

No one was given a guarantee that their life would turn out any different than what they are experiencing. No one can promise you "No More Tears." Maybe when things get tough the best that we can do is let God lead us. He "leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul."

    “Indignant”
    "Indignant"

How strong are words? Mark used the word “Indignant” to describe a situation. We have a watered down version of Jesus’ personality. When the children were kept from Jesus, He was “Indignant” with the disciples. Jesus showed anger/indignation because he valued the importance of children. Can you imagine a church without children? Remember that Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

“It Really Is All About Me”
"It Really Is All About Me"
Jesus told Peter, "You follow Me," so ultimately "It Really Is All About Me(You)" to have a relationship with Him. Jesus is interested in each person individually. Ultimately, it is about you and your relationship with your Savior, Jesus Christ.
